Lake Oconee Orthopedics was established with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide exceptional orthopedic care that combines the latest medical advances with genuine compassion for our patients. Led by Dr. Thomas Parent, our practice has grown to become a comprehensive orthopedic center serving the greater Lake Oconee area and beyond.

Biography
Dr. Parent is a highly-esteemed orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, shoulder, arm, and knee surgery, boasting over two decades of professional experience. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and holds a certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Hand Surgery. Upon graduating from the University of Notre Dame, where he also excelled in ice hockey, Dr. Parent pursued medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and demonstrated his commitment to medical advancement through work with the transplant team. He then earned his orthopedic fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he won the Resident's Research Award for notable studies. Dr. Parent then served as a partner at the Wilmington Orthopedic Group in North Carolina, providing care to the local communities. In pursuit of specializing in hand surgery, he completed a fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Parent later moved to Naples, FL where he held several leadership positions, including Chair of the Department of Surgery for the local healthcare system, as well as Medical Director of an ambulatory surgical center for the past twenty years. Now leading his practice at Lake Oconee Orthopedics, Dr. Parent continues to offer exceptional, personalized care to his patients and is dedicated to enhancing their quality of life.

Nyleen is a Marquis Who's Who honoree for Excellence in Healthcare Administration, subject matter expert, and national speaker. Her background in healthcare administration and commitment to operational excellence ensures Lake Oconee Orthopedics provides exceptional and unique healthcare experience for all patients.
